Freddie was almost coming to terms with Anatoly. It was an overly frustrating feeling because Anatoly was who he always took things out on. Whenever he was in the mood to yell at someone or bother someone, he always took it out on Anatoly. He always made the man's life a living hell mostly just because he could but also because it helped him feel a little better. But now...he almost empathized with the other man.

For the last two days, he'd been on edge. He had been waiting to get into a fight. Unfortunately, Fight Club had already happened for the month and it wasn't likely there was going to be another one any time soon. Plus Anatoly was the only one he got into it with on a regular basis.

He walked along the boardwalk and tried to ignore the way that it felt like someone was itching underneath his skin.

Lex just raised an eyebrow at him, a bored expression on his face.

Lex just laughed, not even trying to not make it be cruel. "You're calling me a coward? I know I can beat you. What do I have to prove? You, on the other, talk a good talk...and then walk away? I don't think I'm the coward here." While amped for a fight, Lex wasn't about to throw the first punch. He wouldn't give Freddie the satisfaction. And he meant what he said. He didn't have anything to prove.

Lex cracked his jaw and smirked. That was exactly what he'd been waiting for and it was as if Freddie's punch had unleashed all of the turmoil he'd been holding in since the space station. He was quite happy to hit back, hitting Freddie in the side of the head as he foot swept out in a low kick.

Suffering was good for Lex. He wanted to see Trumper bleed while his own skin turned purple with bruises. It wouldn't be a good fight if Lex didn't feel he'd earned it. He clenched an arm to his stomach and spun slightly to protect the sensitive area but in the process, drove his shoulder hard into Trumper's chest.

It was probably a good idea since Lex was thinking the same thing.

Especially since his anger was challenged at Freddie, no matter what he said otherwise. He didn't care about whatever feud they had going on, Anatoly was his to protect and anybody who touched him deserved a beating. That and the release for his guilt from the space station didn't hurt either.

He met Freddie's punches and traded them for some of his own, sometimes connecting, sometimes not. Shoulders, elbows, knees and feet, all traded blows with the other man. And damn did it feel good.

Lex wanted the pain. He felt he deserved it with Helen laid up in the clinic, all broken and bruised because she'd come back to save him. Granted, he was grateful since without her he'd have been dead, but he hated how hurt she'd become in the process. It was probably childish, but the pain from Freddie's fists felt like some sort of minor redemption.

Though hitting Freddie back was purely in Anatoly's defense.

When Trumper stumbled back, Lex bent over at the wait and rested his arms on his knees as he fought to take a few deep breathes. His stomach and chest were bruised, making it difficult. Anatoly wouldn't be happy at all.

But he felt better. Lighter. It was amazing what a good fight could do.

Finally taking a deep breath, he stood up and nodded to Trumper. He was good if Trumper was.
